I am the school nurse here at Spicewood Elementary. This is my 6th year with RRISD and I am honored to continue on working with your children here at Spicewood. I am the proud mother of 4 beautiful girls, the youngest of which is starting her freshman year at Schreiner University... after graduating with honors and a National Honor Society member. I am proud to brag that she has won the very prestigious Schreiner Presidential Scholarship award and the Hugg Trust Scholarship award.

Seems like only yesterday that I graduated from the Central Texas College and have now worked in health care for going on 30 years. I have enjoyed working in a variety of health care settings with a long and unique background including acute care, rehabilitation, family practice, neurological and residential treatment for children and adolescents as well as being a retired Fire Inspector and emergency medical technician with Palm Beach County. A native Texan, I grew up in the Texas Hillcountry and still love spending as much time there as I can.

Being a school nurse has been a most wonderful opportunity! I have been able to raise my children while being home with them during school breaks, evenings and weekends. I am so happy to have the best of both worlds by working here at Spicewood!

Being a part of the parent community has kept me on my toes and more fully involved in the stressors that parents go through while our children are in the learning community - but I also get to appreciate how hard our teachers and nurses work in taking care of those same children all day long.

Helping our children learn how to make positive and healthy choices so that they can live a more happy and healthy life makes my heart happy.  My door is always open.  Feel free to call, email or stop by my office to discuss any health issues or changes with your child.

Here's to a wonderful happy and healthy 2017/2018 school year at Spicewood Elementary!
